The 20 yr. shingle is the standard for most residential homes. Also known as 3 tab, this shingle is covered by 20 yr. manufacturers warranty.

30 yr. Shingle
The 30 yr. dimensional shingle has a wood-shake appearance
for added curb appeal. Available with stain guard to prevent mildew/algae stains.

40 yr. Shingle
The 40 yr. shingle is identical in appearance to the 30 yr. shingle but is of a thicker grade, granulated on both sides and is more wind
resistant. Also available with stain guard.

50 yr. Shingle
The 50 yr. shingle is the highest rated in wind, leak, and impact
resistance. This shingle is thicker than 40 yr., granulated on both sides,
and comes with stain guard standard.

These shingles are solely reserved for the homeowner who desires to stand out. "Color blend" shingles are created by combining various colors into one shingle, which makes it easier to coordinate an exterior color scheme to coincide with the roof.
Dimensions vary. Wind resistance: between 70 and 110 mph. |

There's also "slate" shingles. These shingle types enable the homeowner to achieve the slate or tile look without paying the cost of slate or tile. Warranties for both these shingles vary between 30 and 50 yrs.
